A big thank you

Thank you so much for your tremendous support. It’s hugely appreciated.

Bryn, co-founder Help for Heroes

Support from Diane from Guide Dogs

You certainly are doing very well! I’m sure the other charities you support are as delighted with the result as we are.

Thanks for your continued support.

Kindest regards, Diane from Guide Dogs For The Blind.

Bury Deaf Society

All at local charity Bury Deaf Society would like to express gratitude to Peter Quinn of Charity Aid Burnley. Peter allows charities to raise funds with the help of his singers and musicians at no cost.

On a sunny Wednesday afternoon recently, Peter sang whilst Volunteers from The Deaf Society collected an amazing £950.04 from generous shoppers on The Rock, Bury. Its heartening that residents of Bury are so generous to worthy causes assisting local people.

Our grateful thanks to Peter and his team, all volunteers who helped with the collections.

A Terrific Start

Welcome to Charity Aid, a fundraising project set up by United Press and involving volunteers from all over the North of England.

At the time of making these notes our Charity Aid project has been up and running for 4 years and you can see the result of every collection we’ve held on this website. It adds up to an amazing total.

We have been collecting as Songs For Christie’s and now Charity Aid for 12 years now and have raised over £500,000. The Charity Aid project has added to our knowledge in a very big way and taught us a lot of lessons. Read more

Welcome to Charity Aid

United Press sponsors Charity Aid in the form of website provision and maintenance, providing a storeroom and fundraising equipment and office space and use of printers, paper, postage etc.

We at Charity Aid always give priority to local collection groups because we are more mobile and can go to different towns. Where a local collection group asks us if they can take priority with booking collections with the council we always comply and we’ll give any help or advice a local collection group requires to ensure their collection in their home town is as successful as possible. We also offer our services free of any charge and do not charge expenses if we are asked to provide singers and gear for a pub or club fundraising night.

We have singers and gear. All you need to do is provide the location and a couple of organisers at the event.

Mission Statement

  1. To encourage more people to be involved in charity work
  2. To raise the profile of the charities we fundraise for
  3. To raise the profile of charity work in the community. Outsiders may think that our top priority is to raise as much money as possible for charity. It certainly isn’t!. A fundraiser once said – “I’m not raising money – I’m selling a cause!”

Charity Aid needs your help!

We are very keen to find drivers who can use their own vehicles to take people and/or buckets, banners etc to town centres – mostly on Saturdays and/or Sundays. These drivers will be paid expenses.

We are also desperate to recruit singers/buskers who we will pay expenses to perform in the street at daytime gigs, in Northern England.

If you can’t do it maybe you know someone who can so please get them to contact us. They could be keen amateurs or retired club singers.  We have gear so they don’t have to bring anything unless they want to.
